Despite opposition from residents there, city councillors have decided a sidewalk will be included on Highland, from Rodney to Cook streets, when its above and below-ground infrastructure is renewed – the road surface and pipes under it. Also approved by councillors this week was updated infill sidewalk criteria, to establish priorities for new sidewalks and the most cost-effective way to provide them, throughout Barrie.
