Calgary cycling tracks unveiled
The proposed downtown cycle track network was unveiled Tuesday with plans calling for it to be introduced as a one-year pilot program at a cost of $11.5 million. Costs would include the construction of temporary barriers — which will be low enough that a car door can be opened without hitting it — as well as esthetic measures like planters and the installation and re-timing of traffic lights to allow for separate turning signals for bikes, said transportation engineer Blanka Bracic.
