They walked and biked their way to work – others car pooled or took transit. And when all was said and done, Kingston was number one for medium sized cities during this year’s commuter challenge. Wonderful! It is really important for active and public transport to get a foothold in smaller cities, not just in the largest ones. Are the many institutional employers a help in its success?
It is a lovely old city, though I'm sure "graduates" of its penal institutions look back upon it less fondly than those of its educational ones.
Important to maintain some kind of active/public transport mix in wintertime too.
