Guelph - Multi-use path along Woodlawn Road needs to stay in budget
Guelph has done a reasonably good job of looking out for cyclists, constructing new bike lanes as part of road construction projects and putting others on "diets" to create bike lanes within the existing road allowance. But the primary reason the Woodlawn Road path must be bumped back to the front burner is safety. In November 2012, late city engineer Rick Henry told council in his professional opinion it was "not safe" for pedestrians or cyclists to use Woodlawn Road West; a suggestion with which any user of the road will easily concur.
